Fabrice Popineau is a Professor at CentraleSupélec. He carries out his research within the LAHDAK team (LArge-scale Heterogeneous DAta and Knowledge) at LISN. His main research theme concerns the applications of artificial intelligence to education and to the optimization of human learning. He has co-supervised numerous PhD theses drawing on a wide range of AI techniques, from knowledge graphs to deep learning. He has also taken part in several European (EUREKA) and national (ANR, e-FRAN) research projects.
He sits on the program committees of the IJCAI and AAAI conferences and of several scientific journals. He is an Artificial Intelligence expert with ISO within the framework of JTC1/SC42 on AI standardization. He is also the scientific caution of the French translation of the internationally renowned book Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach by Stuart Russell and Peter Norvig.
Last but not least, with regard to the present partnership, he is the principal investigator of the research chair between LUSIS and CentraleSupélec/LISN.
